Brazenhill Lane, Haughton

The Brazenhill Lane project in Haughton involved a resident seeking a new dropped kerb to serve proposed parking bays on a recently built estate. The access needed to be considered against local authority visibility guidance, with particular attention given to nearby junctions and approaches. Ensuring that drivers could safely leave the property with adequate awareness of surrounding traffic was central to the assessment.

Civia was appointed to review the proposed access arrangement and prepare the supporting visibility assessment. We established a workable layout using the property and surrounding highway information, then assessed the relevant sightlines in accordance with local guidance. The resulting plan demonstrated the feasibility of the access and provided the highway authority with the information needed to comment positively on visibility and safe egress from the property.
